Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar is also the month during which Muslims around the world fast from dawn to sunset. They refrain from eating, smoking, drinking and any refrain from pleasurable activities. Ramadan is the month that aims to purify the soul and bring the individual closer to Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala). Towards the end, Muslim mark the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, a celebration that brings Ramadan to a close.

***“When Ramadan enters, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed and the devils are chained”***

***“Anyone who fasts for one day for Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala)’s sake, Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) will keep his face away from the Hellfire for (a distance covered by a journey of) seventy years.”***

***“Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala)’s rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven.”***

***“Fasting is a shield; so when one of you is fasting he should neither indulge in obscene language nor should he raise his voice in anger. If someone attacks him or insults him, let him say: I am fasting!“***
